Welcome to
spellwell.online
This web site has been created for those with literacy challenges to access two novel products to assist them in overcoming difficulties, particularly with spelling. Each product has distinct differences. One is based on a specific radical teaching technique and the other is a computer-based aid to assist in spelling and word-finding. The two approaches are quite different and yet many people will find then complementary.

Words Worldwide and WordWizard™
WordWizard has been developed to enable anybody to identify and spell words, especially people with limited literacy. The required word can be found rapidly, based simply on how it is pronounced.
This unique program builds on and develops the user’s ability to sound out words. Based on this, appropriately typed input enables words to be quickly and accurately spelt. By using WordWizard, the user quickly gains an understanding of the often bizarre relationship between English spelling and pronunciation.
The process is completely interactive and users are given the opportunity to experiment with their spelling and make appropriate corrections. The final selection of the required word can be copied to the Windows clipboard from where it can be pasted to a word processor, web browser or email.
Teachers can leave pupils to work alone on developing their spelling skills and their progress can be checked after each session. This is made possible by the automatic production of reports on the attempts at spelling and corrections made by the user.
Advanced text-to-speech technology assists in the learning process, in word selection and in providing an advanced tutorial system, speeding up the learning process.
Mnemonics and Phonics: Help for Dyslexia
A unique teaching system has been devised by specialist dyslexia practitioner Chris Blance.
It combines her highly successful ‘initial word mnemonic chants’ invention with a quick and effective phonic flashcard programme.
These combined methods have had a fantastic effect on pupils for over 25 years, and now, thanks to the internet, on pupils in different parts of the world. It is available for purchase from the website.
Included in this course are many high frequency and homophone word lists, all of their mnemonic chants and a large number of integrated sentences for reading and dictation. There are templates for five sets of phonic flashcards, hundreds of associated wordlists and worksheets and a fun visual way to monitor progress. Clear step-by-step instructions are given on how to teach this, both in written and in video format. It has been designed with teachers and their assistants in mind but also for parents who are homeschooling.
This is a fun, multisensory approach to teaching dyslexic children and it has changed the lives of those who have used it. It has given them skills, strategies, confidence and self-esteem and enabled them to reach potentials they never thought possible.
As well as the full teaching course there are a set of books called Spelling Success specifically dealing with the initial word mnemonic chants for high frequency words and homophones. Example pages are shown allowing you to experience some of the mnemonics and test them out. They really do act like magic.
Try this approach for dyslexics. It is fast, fun and effective. On many occasions it has been the only method that has worked . It has provided those who have given up hope with a life line and a route to success.
